ChildNet, Inc. is a private, not-for-profit community-based care (CBC) agency servicing Broward and Palm Beach County. We are contracted with the State of Florida, Department of Children and Families, to provide case management support to abused, abandoned, and neglected children. ChildNet is nationally accredited by the Council on Accreditation (COA) and employs over 450 staff at its location in Ft Lauderdale and West Palm Beach, Florida. 

Job Summary: This position supports the day-to-day operations of the Human Resources functions. Responsible for administrative and project-oriented duties. Supports the Human Resources Department training, supports the effective use of human resources information systems and regulatory compliance, employment records, filing, clerical and additional duties as assigned. 

Essential Functions:

The list below is intended to provide an overview of the essential functions of the job. This is not an exhaustive list of all functions and responsibilities that the position may be required to provide.

  • Performs professional human resource functions encompassing all aspects of compliance with the standards of established federal, state, and local regulatory standards and guidelines with responsibility for administering compliance with current regulatory guidelines and standards within various functional areas of responsibility, i.e. performance management, employee relations, FMLA administration and policies and procedures and labor law compliance.
  • Assists with administering and enforcing human resources policies, programs, and practices.
  • Maintains accurate and up-to-date human resource files, records, and documentation in compliance with contractual, regulatory, accreditation, legal & ChildNet policy/ procedures requirements. 
  • Maintains the integrity and confidentiality of human resource files and records.
  • Maintains accurate records and logs regarding tasks and projects, i.e., social security verifications, annual Department of Motor Vehicle (DMV) records checks, five (5) year background screens, annual local background checks and out of state background screenings.
  • Supports employees on the utilization of human resources information systems (HRIS) to reinforce the use of technology and empower employees through self-service.
  • Assists with administration and annual compliance requirements in accordance with DCF, AHCA and other regulatory requirements.
  • Assists with the administration and gathering relevant evidence needed for Workers Compensation and FMLA Requests.
  • Support compliance with legal/regulatory requirements and standards governing employment relationship, accrediting standards and contractual obligations to include: ADA, EEOC, FMLA, FSLA, COBRA, ERISA, COA, DCF, safely, and screening standard/requirement.
  • Performs periodic audits of HR files and records to ensure that all required documents are collected and filed appropriately.
  • Provides clerical support to the HR department.
  • Assists with planning and execution of special events, meetings, and management-employee communications.
  • Process correspondence and forms of a confidential or sensitive nature.
  • Assists department personnel with administrative support.
  • Respond timely to email and phone calls. Contact staff to maintain client files and provide necessary information.
  • Continuously learn the latest HR best practices to improve workplace efficiency.
  • Serves as a back-up to the Receptionist position.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills/ Requirements

Years of Experience:

  • Two (2) year of progressively responsible experience in Human Resources or related field
  • Equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience

Education/Licenses/Certifications:

  • Associate's degree (bachelor’s Preferred)
